To reach areas that no other scanner can reach
" We made a variety of additional measurements with the Navvis VLX, including stairwells, smaller rooms, or locations where there were many obstructions on the construction site. Getting through the construction site in this way is surprisingly easy."

When it came to actually testing, the Rek & Wieck team had a challenge from the start. They had to take the device to a building site and scan a 13-story building.

Aroslav Bilusak is a joint engineer with the 3D BIM team and Rek & Wieck. He described it this way: "Our building site is located in Ernst-Reuters-Platz 6, and the whole building is being renovated." In other words, the challenge was to take 3D measurements of the entire building, which required a very high degree of precision.

" We scanned all of the 13 floors with a Navvis M6 to form a 3D model of the entire building and presented the model using the Navvis IndoorViewer." Aroslav said so. Moreover, They also needed to document all the girders, including gaps in them, for subsequent reconstruction.

At the same time, NavVis VLX is the perfect partner of M6 in order to measure more difficult places."We used NavVis VLX to complete a variety of measurements, including stairs and small rooms. It's much easier to move around the building this way." Aroslav added. "And the quality of the point cloud is also very satisfactory, and we have obtained very high accuracy."
